Yes Erika, millions of people including myself have or are going through the same thing as you.
i'm sorry you're feeling this way but it doesn't have to be like this for the rest of your life.
i'm going to tell you what has really helped me a lot. I have had anxiety for years and finally have been able to manage it.
when you are having that shortness of breath, go to YouTube and search for guided meditation for breathing. They help you learn the proper way of breathing when you have anxiety. It really calms me down a lot. And you can use this technique where ever you are during the day. When you are having anxiety, always go back to this breathing technique. There are several to choose from And the effect is better when you use earbuds but you don't have to.
also on YouTube there are many guided meditations for anxiety, stress, depression, sleeping well etc. choose the ones that you like. I do them a couple times a day. Many of the meditations teach you how to separate negative thinking from yourself.
if you can pick up a book called Mindfulness, it teaches all of this and it also teaches you how to regain your peace of mind and manage anxiety. It is a white covered book with a ball of string on the cover.
if your having a real difficult time with the grief and anxiety, I would highly recommend speaking to a counselor. It really helps to speak with someone else in person and they know how to help.
try to stay active and social. And be good to yourself. I hope you feel better πΈπΈπΈ
Also, YouTube has meditations for panic attacks. Just search for a panic attack emergency if you are feeling really bad.
