This is probably super ridiculous, because it does sound very far-fetched. My anxiety is making things so bad for me. I really hate myself for this. My window, in my room, had a little gap that bats could come in through. My COUNTY (not country, county) discovers rabid bats every year, but the city I live in (which is within the county) has never had any reports of rabid bats, nor bats in general. Never. I tried looking things up and nothing. It just gives cases of cities that are 20 mins to 3 hours away from me. I live in California, btw. So far, in the year 2019, my county only discovered 5 rabid bats.
Anyways, I have been anxious about rabies because we had mice in my house, and even though I have never been bitten or touched any fresh saliva and mice rarely have rabies, I freaked out a lot. I’m over that now, but my mind thinks my house has bats? I have a scratch, it’s a scab now, and I’ve read that small scratches form scabs quickly. So it’s pretty much new, I haven’t been sleeping alone, so would it be possible for a rabid bat to scratch me and not notice even though there’s a lot more people in the room?
I’m freaking out because my brother “claims” that he heard a bat in a vent when I showed him bat noises, but he’s unsure. He said it happens randomly, he heard it in late December and early January and never again. instantly freaked out and cried. The heater in my house turned on yesterday and I told my brother if this is what he heard and he said yea, but that it was much louder. I’ve included the link in this post for the noise. It just sounds like a heater to me. But my anxiety is making me crazy.
is it possible for a rabid bat to bite me while sleeping (without giving a mark) and then leave my room and I’ve never seen a trace of it ever again? I’m not even sure if a bat came in, I have never seen a bat or heard a bat and nobody else has except what my brother has claimed.
I really need help Im freaking myself out a lot and I cant calm down, my anxiety is exploding
