My appetite has suddenly decreased and eating causes my stomach to hurt, what could be the cause?

About a week or two ago, I noticed my getting smaller and smaller to the point now that I barely eat or drink anything in a day. When I do eat—no matter the amount—I immediately get really sharp pain in my upper abdominal area. The pain can get so bad to the point where I can’t even stand up or barely breathe. My weight has also decreased. I’ve lost almost ten pounds already and that scares me. I have no clue how to go about this. If someone could help, that would be great.

Hello Kay
You will need to see a GP as he might do tests to confirm the cause.
It could be many things, for example:"
Gastritis causes the lining of the stomach to become inflamed. It can cause stomach pain, Cutting out acidic foods may help.
However, such as gallstones and gallbladder inflammation (cholecystitis), pregnancy, gas, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease), appendicitis, ulcers, gastritis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), pancreatitis etc etc pls see a GP

Sorry I have noticed that some contents of my reply were missing. I wanted to say that other conditions can cause that too as listed above, thus you will need to see a GP to confirm the issue through some tests.

Definitely see your doctor. Dont try to find a diagnosis online. It could be something very simple, but only a doctor will put you on the right track.

did u find out what the cause was my daughter had the same thing she had gall stones
