my GP advised me to reduce dose of prednisilone from 10mgms to 9mg a week ago. ESR 11.now my balance is so poor I can barely walk could not get into the shower this morning. Should I increase the dose? I don't see GP for another 8days I feel really miserable.
Hi Caroline, my balance tends to be poor, too, and I am on 17 mg. I bought a couple of Nordic poles which help me when I go for my walk in the park where I live. They do help. My back tends to bother me, and I think this balance problem sems from there. I don't know if upping your prednisone would help.

It could be the PMR flaring because the dose is too low - poor balance is typical of PMR. Erika's Nordic walking poles are a very good idea but not much help for the shower!
How long have you been on pred?
I have been on pred for 15months.I have been better.
I seem to have posted twice, how did that happen?
I gave in today and had an extra 1mgm this seems to have helped will go back to 10mg until I see my GP next week.
