So two days ago I slipped and fell on the ice, I heard a loud cracking noise and then felt a sharp pain in my wrist, I immediately ran inside and bandaged it up and took some aspirin, I told my dad and he asked if I could hold out for a while before rushing to the hospital (we’d probably have to wait for at least 5 hours).
After only about 15 minutes I noticed that the pain was pretty much gone, and I thanked the painkillers, but the morning after my wrist felt fine… until I tried to move it, I felt like a sharp shooting pain, and the same when I tried to pick something up.
My mom had a look at it (she has worked as a geriatrician) and said it was probably a muscle tear and it would heal on its own (but I don’t know if I trust her because she always tells me what she thinks I want to hear rather than the truth). It’s been three days now, and although it feels a bit better it still is nowhere near healed.
There’s no bruising just a bit of redness, pretty much no swelling.
I just don’t want to wait for weeks for it to heal and then find out that it’s actually broken.
Is there any way to know other than x-ray?
