I have been going to my docs for over a year with different issues from headaches, shortness of breath, chest pains, slurred speech, sore mouth, fatigue, and the last bloods I got took were weakly positive antibodies for pa she never said anything. When I looked up pa I have all the symptoms should I go back to my doctor and tell her??
Hi Ylac, it certainly sounds like you are B12 deficient due to pernicious anemia. The next thing for you to do is to have your B12 levels tested. Make sure that you get the actual values and the type of units. Sub-clinical vitamin B12 deficiency has been shown to start at 250 pmol/L, which is equivalent to 340 ng/L. You can find out how many symptoms of B12 deficiency you have if you look up nearly any site dealing with B12 deficiency. Unfortunately they won't allow links on this page, so you will have to look it up yourself. Re-post if you have problems and I can send you the links via your internal mail system. If you have PA you lose B12 from your body at about 4-6 times the rate of people who don't have PA.
Thanx madgec for your reply, I've got an appointment with my doc today, going to be assertive because I can't go on like this.
Good luck at the doctor ylrac. . Let us know how you get on
