My food has tasted very salty for at least two months. I first noticed this when I ate some ‘homemade’ beef patties made by the local grocery store, they were so salty that I could barely eat them. I thought OK, a bad batch, but I’ve had them a couple of times since with similar, although not identical results. We’ve had these burgers before BTW, with no issues. I just cooked up some wieners and I could not eat them because of the salt. Granted wieners are not the healthiest thing (the cat tries to bury them) and I like to bake them as opposed to boiling, as I find boiled wieners anemic. My BP has also been unstable lately.
I Googled this and did not come up with much, as most of the hits were related to a salty taste in the mouth, which is not what this is. The other condition that can cause this is being pregnant, I don’t think that’s it. I did find a single reference to possibly being caused by an electrolyte imbalance. I asked my doctor about this and she had no clue, so I asked her to check my electrolytes. I did get a blood test script, but I’m not keen to go to the blood lab ATM.
