The stones are small in the neck of the gallbladder and the last attack lasted 3 days. Am I in danger of one getting in bile duct? Should I get my gallbladder removed sooner than later. Each attack has gotten worse.
Hi I'm in the same boat! Been back and forth to hospital got a mri scan Wed to confirm the stones are in the bile duck.. so painful.. on urgent refural to have gallbladder removed😷
If you have gallstones then there’s always a risk of that. The attacks do get more painful and happen more often (or they did in my case anyway). I’d definitely see about getting your gallbladder out as it’s already causing you a lot of pain. If you end up with jaundice or a fever then you need to get medical help straight away xx
yes i agree with the others, they only get worse as time goes on, my pain was awful, had a stone trapped, couldnt even walk, was rushed in to surgery, home next day, take it easy tho if you have the gb removed, all best,
Gallstones like this can migrate and lodge almost anywhere with the digestive system, not just the common bile duct. They can cause issues with the liver, jaundice leading to septic shock, pancreas, bowels etc. Even if they stay where they are, you have said that the attacks are getting worse.
My advice is to have it out ASAP.
Have the surgery . You have the chance of obstruction. Get gb surgery so your bodies digestion can return to normality. Stone taken care with ERCP. GET THIS DONE. Good Luck...
Hi
mine was stuck in the gallbladder neck the cystic duct but was 2.3cm been stuck their 3 years I beleave
but originally I was told 4 stones of 1.4cm and a shadow in the neck .
my point being, ultrasounds ct scans and MRI are really not that great I don't beleave they can see so much.
and things seem to change in these gallbladders once you have stones , I've been so ill for 3 years it's ruined my life and my attacks of so called bilery colic became extreme to the point where I was scamberling around on the floor for anything from 7 hours to 30 or 40 hours like a mad man and I ended up pretty much loosening my mind if I'm honest. And lost 4 and half stone ,couldn't eat for fear of another attack couldn't go anywhere for fear of attack and ended up a month ago having an attack every day like a never ending attack really and ended up having 17 hours of sleep out of 176 hours and that was like 2 hours here and their at best. I was seeing smoke comeing out of the walls and all sorts , it really made me lose my mind and I knew I was on my way out. Then after having it removed 24 days ago it turned out to be 2 stones one in the neck 2.3 cm and one in the gallbladder 2.1 cm so it changes , and my gallbladder was full of puss and gangrenous and I'm very lucky to be alive. To be honest I've been an idiot and tried to swerve the surgery due to fear of the operation and anxiety and it's very nearly cost me life . My advise would be to get it dealt with asap to anyone now for that matter , because it just gets worse and worse and I was told by some top surgeons they don't see any harm in waiting and seeing as I was in no danger as my stones were to big to pass into the bilery tree as it were , and look I nearly ended up dead . No no no it's not worth the pain the suffering the mental torture, when the likely outlook is going to be it has to come out anyway . Save yourself all what I've been through and those around me for 3 years ,and bite the bullet as it were and get it dealt with it's just far too risky .and as fernando has said ,if that ends up in yr pancreatic duct ?
what can happen is anybody's guess, but it will not be good.
good luck and god bless you .everyone here has given you good advice.
i wish I had listened I really do.
