Has anyone else noticed a change In There hair ??? I'm convinced mine is falling out , it's getting thinner and thinner. As if Iv not been through enough I'm guna end up bold 😟 .
Are you taking Naproxen? That made my hair fall out more than normal. If not maybe it's part of the stressful time you've been through - your.body reacting to all the drugs during the op and afterwards. It'll probably return to normal.
Hi Jenny Iv just been doing some research and found that the anticoagulants ( blood thinners) that are top of the list and well known for making your hair fall out , in fact anticoagulants come just under chemotherapy for making your hair fall out , And yes you are right the naproxen is not too far down the list under that . Gutted 😔, could have done without it . Will this nightmare ever end . Xxxxx

Defo the blood thinners , Not a nice side effect is it X will look into a specialised "Grow hair back" diet .

Do you have to be on the blood thinners for much longer? I only had to have injections for 5 days once home and nothing since. Once all this stuff is out of your system your hair will grow again.
Hi Bobbie. Don't worry. When I had my first op my hair was falling out. It's something that happens after a major op. I have had my second op six weeks ago and my hair is thick and flowing.(if I do say so myself) ha ha. It will come back and thicker than it was. X take care and God bless. X

Hair loss is common 3-6 months after general anesthesia. It usually grows back.
I was on blood thinners for just over 6 weeks and I think Iv lost 20% of my hair if not more like 30% .

I'm sorry to hear it's upsetting you too lovie xx it's not nice is it . Blood thinners are the main cause but also anti inflammatory like naproxen and also General Anaesthetic can have an effect on the hair too . So we've had a double dose of nasty 😫. A good healthy diet and time is what we need . Having said that its wine and chocolate tonight. Ops 😵😂🍾

For me it is nails. I think the drugs attack whatever your weak point already was. I never had strong nails. Now every single one of them is flaking away. I've always used argan oil for my hair anyway, and I'm now having to fix my nails.
So was researching hair thinning and found 2 pertinent things.1- Anasthesia causes hair thinning and 2-Antihyperensives cause hair loss.I had never had hypertension until my pain levels became high and with increased pain I have had increased B/P so that contributes to increased hair loss
Funny you say that, mine has thinned out and I said wow I am 49 , Wil be 50 next month. Stressing I will have to wear a wig. NEVER EVER WORE WIG.., don't like fake hair. aw2ww2w

Like Beth, my nails were and still are in terrible shape - as she said, thin, flaky and nailpolish won't adhere .... weird ...
it will all come back ...
