My right knee keeps poppin in and out. Also im walking on my heel because i can't put full weight on my right knee. Plus it feels swollena nd won't stop popping in and out. No pain meds have helped at all. I have ried to talking to the nurse. Going up and down the stairs hurts so much that it takes me a while to get up and down the stairs.
Haven't had popping but seen on this forum that others have. As for stairs not sure how many weeks you are but until eleven I didn't manage to go up and at fourteen I can just about get down in a normal way holding tight to bannister. If pain meds aren't working change to stronger one and make sure you ice frequently it numbs pain . Good luck
You need an MRI and visit with an orthpod immediately before you do more damage. Sounds like possible meniscus but won't be able able to be diagnosed without the test. Don't settle for a simple x-ray. Walking on it with pressure is inviting trouble. For now, rest, ice and elevate. first thing, go to an emergency room and get help.
I may have missed something but don't see anything tha tells me you have had any medical attention yet.
Had the same problem but my doctor said it was soft tissue damage which never improved after three months with no sign of referring me to anyone I paid private for a MRI scan . In hindsight I should have just gone to casualty and insisted on one. Don't leave it as my knee was a chrondral flapped on the knee which locked it. Best of luck
Go and see your consultant ASAP to get it orted as no one else can. You dont say how long it is but you should be able to take full weight by 4 weeks
since sunday
i haven't yet
i tried it but it has gotten to the point where i can't stand up and can't move it at all
Where are you located. Someone on here may have personal experience with medical facilities in your area and how to quickly move through the system
If its UK there should be a specialist knee prosthesis nurse at the hospital, otherwise go to A&E and they will get an orthopaedic Dr to see it. You should be able to walk on flat foot from 1st day, any change in that indicates something wrong
Maybe I misread but I am under the opinion he hasn't even seen a doc let alone had any kind of surgery.
I'm in the United States
Me too. I'm in the KC area. If you don't have an ortho, ER will hook you up with one if the think you need it. I wouldn't put it off any longer. I'm waiting for another 6 weeks to have my 11th surgery on this leg. At this time I have no knee and have to wait for a staph to be completely done away with. Just finished 8 weeks of antibiotic infusions so have a little knee history to lean on. Keep us advised
Ofg1,
I'm 8 weeks post-op TKR and have been on this sight for a while now. As I've read your responses and history I feel as though you are talking about my dearest best friend who is also going through much of what you are. She has just had her 11th surgery and we are praying this one will correct all of the problems. Best of luck to you!
that is my knee thanks i will ask to be taken
thanks i'm going to see if i can go see a doctor about it
i'm located in the United States and the nurse says she can't do anything about it and just gives me pain meds
Unfortunately the pain sort of takes over your life and concentration. I have a little book laying here by my chair and I can't bring myself to open it and get started. Hope your friend finds success in the next surgery and that it will solve all the issues. I think the thing that really makes me snap back to reality is my wife's condition. I know I have a chance to get some relief but she has none. She just continues to become more fragile in every aspect, mental and physical, and we both see it happening.
Yeah, that's just like using a cheap band aid for a deep, jagged laceration. Nurses are very important in the medical hierarchy but they aren't diagnosticans and shouldn't be expected to do the job of one. If you have a medical school close by I would suggest using it. They all have state of the art equipment and great teaching docs.
