My leg gets tired easy!

Hello Everyine, a quick question ....I just had my hip replacement 7 day ago I'm doing pretty good and everyone has answered a lot of questions for me and I thank you😀one more question, as I'm standing up for little bit during the day, my back and leg feel so tired as if I have ran a marathon..... When will that exhaustion subside.

Thanks,

Scoops

All i will say is.... there is a ton of healing going in there. n. Those muscles and tendons etc have been in a war. 7 days is brand new. Give your body time . Goid luck with your recovery

Thanks Sassybees!! I am impatient, I know. The doctor said they had to pull my muscles more than expected. 👀😖

My thighs r paining even after 5 mths of operation...dont understand what to do...dr says wl hv to get operated again...plss advice

Wow. Why another surgery? Is there something wrong with the nerves in your leg or the actual replacement?

Hi Scoops!

Good to hear you're doing well.

I'm almost 6 months out and when I walk my buttocks of my unoperated leg gets really tight and painful. You will notice exhausted feeling for sometime yet but let your body heal. All in due time. Don't rush it. Rest when you need to!

Hi, it's very annoying. I feel both of them very tight! I am can't wait to stop feeling the tightness of the hip as well.

The surgeon says the replacement could b loose...but wl know only after they open n check ..n when they open they say it has to be changed....but i m not sure that wld i be perfect after 2nd replacement or there could be some way out

Bless your heart!! I could not imagine doing this again!! You are a super strong person Keep us posted.

dear scoops,

you are just 7 days post-op from major surgery. ..are you full weight bearing? were you given any exercises to do?

I am 16 days post-op from 2nd THR and my operated leg feels heavy and back tired.

like said here : give your body time. ..

be gentle with your self

warm hug

Renee

Do pray for me that i dnt hv to go for opertn again

Please forgive me for asking this but having read your other post on this issue, are you having this advice in the UK or in a country where you are going to have to pay for everything again?

My implant is non-cemented and therefor does move around which results in thigh pain, now at 7 months post op it is much better but I still get an ache when I have over done things.

Mine was also as a result of an accident, most members on here have thr due to OA. My consultant advised that followind a serious accident like I had I could experience pain intermittantly for 18 months or more.

There are investigations, Xray, MRI scan that would give a better idea before rushing into another operation.

Wishing you all the best,

Dot.

Scoops, its normal, you have had major surgery, do those butt clenches multiple times daily and keep up all your other exercises. None of us were warned/knew exactly what recovery would be like but there were no other choices.

The more you do your exercises and rest when your body says its tired, the sooner things improve. It really does get better. Take care, Dot.

Hi Renee,

I can walk without a walker. I am anxious to get full recovery. I am 47, 5'4 105 pounds and full of energy. I know, I will slow down and be patient. You take care of yourself!!

Thanks,

Scoops

Thanks Dot! I will continue the butt clinched!!

Thnx dot...i m not in uk n so worried to pay for my oprtn...so luking for ways whch cld relieve my pain...like some exercises or smthing

As has been said, it's early days but if you were full of energy before the op then there's no reason why you shouldn't be in a month or two.

Hi Scoops,

At a week post op you are really only a very small way down the recovery road but it's good that you are raring to go as most people after the op are tired and really can't be bothered to do much.

If you overdo things at this early stage you could wind up back to square one so I would advise what I always do. Do the exercises if you can manage them but don't overdo it, then rest them afterwards to let your muscles etc recover from the strain you have put on them.

If you could see the mess that there is currently inside the wound you would understand why taking things slowly is a necessity, not a choice.

I know it seems to stretch forever before you but recovery isn't really that far away.mIt seems like I just had my op maybe a week ago and here I am, almost 5 weeks post op and getting about, pain and crutch free. I still have stiffness in the morning or if I've been sat for too long but that's it and I know from having the other hip done in February that the stiffness will fade eventually too.

Slowly and carefully wins the race in the hippy game 😊

Take care.

That was very honest of your surgeon to admit they

had to stretch the muscles more. 3 months after my 1st

hip op I mentioned pain in the groin area of my other

leg where my hip was bone on bone and my consultant

told me my muscle had thickened. So I am expecting a

similar situation to you after my 2nd hip op in a week.

did he say anything else about the pulling?

me my muscle had thickened

Thanks Ali!! I know I had hip displasia. It was not detected at birth. I am paying the price now and
