My Mom gets sick multiple times a month usually for a period of 2 or 3 days and this has been happening for years. She has had breast cancer about 20 years ago and she made it out alive. She has mentioned that maybe it's cancer but I don't know if she truly believes that or not. She goes to the doctor but they do nothing for her. She is not the type of person to push for answers. She said she gets a burning sensation in her chest and throats. She gets super nauseated and weak because she eats absolutely nothing for sometimes days. Everything she eats and drinks she ends up puking up. She gets super emptional and depressed. These things are worse when she gets sick. Does anyone have any information out there as to what this can be and how to help her?
First of all, I'm sorry that she has to go through this. The burning sensation seems like GERD, but I'm not a doctor. She should change doctors and push for answers, really. She has to, she doesn't wanna live like that. It might be psychological too, but other things have to be ruled out too. Does she have reasons to have anxiety?
Burning in the chest and throat sounds like GERD which can cause nausea. Perhaps she should try a food diary to see if she is intolerant to a certain food(s). However, dhe should also see a doctor.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I also have GERD (which caused my Barrett's) You should tell your mom to push for tests. If she is a gentle soul then sometimes sons and daughters need to advocate on behalf of their parents. My GERD does cause severe nausea but I've always been able to hold food down.
Please have her see a GI specialist ASAP.
