After knee replacement of both knees. My mother didn't recover since 18th Dec 2015. On 6th may 2016 she passed away.
My peace of advice for all of you, don't go for tkr if you really wanna go. Then only do one tkr at one time. Also if you have weak stomach do not go for operation at all.
These all things lead to my mother death.
Please pray for her.
Thank you.
I'm so sorry to hear about your mom's death. This is a major surgery and we each respond differently. Age and health will play into recovery. I had a bilateral TKR done, but I was young (50). Recovery was very difficult and took a lot out of me (I ended up with an umbilical hernia and lost about 1/2 the hair on my head due to surgical stress). But nearly 2 years later I'm moving around well, have all my hair back and even the hernia surgery is not much of a problem. I could not have continued living a productive life with my knees the way they were. I think most people would say they don't regret it - but never right after the surgery. Those first couple months are quite possibly the equivalent of hell. At least it was for me. Again, I am so sorry for your loss and am praying for you.
This is so sad - all of us would agree that you shouldn't go for the surgury unless you have no quality of life. All of us in this community will be thinking of you & your family.
I'm so sorry for your loss. No one will have surgery unless they really need it and hopefully go on to have a healthier, painfree life.
Take care, Debbie
Debbie, so very sorry for your loss. I could not imagine having both knees done at once. Prayers for you and your family.

I am sorry for your loss. My doctor did not recommend having 2 knee replacements at once. He said there was a greater risk of a heart attack. What caused your mothers death?
I'm so sorry for your loss.....I had just 1 knee done and recovery has been the worse thing I have ever been through. I thought I was tough but this totally kicked my butt. Praying for you and your family. May you find comfort in the memories you have with your Mom.
OMG!!! Does anyone tell you all of this before the surgery? I never heard a word of it (USA) and getting info is like pulling teeth, but anyway because of all the non communication I have decided to NOT have a second TKR if at all possible. Trying to avoid all surgeries--one connected to stomach problems... Sorry to hear this, but great to know. Wishing the best for you and your family members......
Water in lungs which lead to heart failure within 35mins
No one told me all of this. If you read my previous discussions you would know details. Thanks
