im seriously flipping the eff out. i just moved into this new apartment that wraps around a little lake and a old resident told me she sees fruit bats at night. i didn’t believe her but she showed me and shes right!! what do I do?? im so scared of rabies!! i don’t know what kind of bat it is!!! i live in the city but around alot of trees!! please help
Most bats don’t carry rabies. Those that do usually stay away from others. These freak accidents where bats give rabies to humans are EXTREMELY rare. Keep your doors closed so you don’t get any inside. In the grand scheme of things, bats are an important species that has significance for insect and pest control. They’re not your enemies but fascinating critters. They might be as afraid of you as you are of them.
thank you for your reply. still scared of them. i read some people don’t even know if they’ve been biten… seems bizzare if your not sure if you’ve had a medium size bird in your face lol
