OK 10 weeks ago I had my TKR ,I went to doctor today my rom has not been past 70 75.Today doctor says he's fiNE with my bent it was 90.woop woop. Then I went to PT they worked with me and couldn't belive it I reached 85 with him.I'll take it.So anyone out there feeling hopeless and down about your progress please hang in there and really do your work at home its easy to become lazy at home then we want to give up,its really on us we have to work hard to move foward.GETTING MY BEND rom SO HIGH TODAY IS LIKE CLIMBING OVER THAT MOUNTAIN FOR ME!!!!GOOD LUCK ALL !!!!WE CAN DO IT....!!!!
Yup...just takes time and effort. Happy for you. Getting back your ROM is NOT a linear path. There are advances, setbacks and plateaus. All part of the game.

PS: Six months post op.
The Good:
- Virtually zero pain
- Sleep well at night
- No meds or walking aids
- 0 / +131 ROM
- The more I walk, the better it feels
- I can put my socks on and tie my shoes
The Bad (well...not so bad...)
- Still have that slightly swollen look
- Clicks and pops (I think these are permanent but who cares)
- Some stiffness, especially if I sit for a long time...takes a few steps to get my rhythm
- I don't have a cane to swat people with any more
Yay! You'll be on ice skates in no time! Or are your hockey days over my friend?
Hockey days are long over...really, really miss it. Just want to be back on rollerblades in the next six months. I'd be happy with that. Artificial hip, four vertebrae fused in my back and now the TKR...result of 44 years playing the sport. A return to hockey would be ill advised. Four and a half pounds of metal in me now...with another TKR to go...hopefully not too soon. At 68, I'd like to get it done in the next few years max. We'll see.
I know it's really tough for people at the front end of this recovery. I wasn't really prepared for the level of pain...don't think anyone could be. But once you get past all that, it's so good to be walking again. I know there are people who will have continued pain...that's a shame...just hope they get better eventually.
For me, I'm thankful for the technology and the skills of the people who use it to great effect. Hip, back, knee...a hundred short years ago and I would have been resigned to a wheelchair until I died. This is a whole lot better. Once people are past their pain, I hope they can see and accept "the long game", and be grateful for the gift they've been given. Things could be a lot worse...
Wow you're like a Borg lol! I can't believe you have to get another knee done! What a nightmare. But yes technology has made you able to be mobile and live your life. You are an inspiration to the rest of us going through this knee thing. So probably no skiing this winter either! Take care.
Big congrats! Good for you! So happy to hear not only about your progress, but about how you're using it as inspiration to keep working at it. It's a really important lesson to take whatever progress you make, whether it's 1 degree or 10, and use it as motivation to keep working.
Well done you!
