My 12 yr son has Graves with Graves Ophthalmology. His pediatric opthalmologist referred him to an oculoplastic surgeon that specializes in GO (or thyroid eye disease). There are surgical options to help the function and appeance of his eyes. This is covered by his insurance, but he has to wait until he gets the disease under control and when he stops growing. Seek an oculoplastic surgeon if you too are suffering from this terrible disease. There are many videos on YouTube of people that have had GO surgery and look and feel much better after surgery.
How kind of you to pass this valuable information on to others ....
I hope your son is doing good with his treatment and responding well to it .
If there are other things that you’d like to know about concerning Graves’ disease and the management of it, to keep it under control .. please ask as there are people on here who could help enormously
Linda187 and Danr are exceptional .
For example If you wanted to know more about his blood results ... if you have them you could print them out here and be advised as to what to do next ..
Does your Son take Carbimazole
And if so , how is he responding to it ..
He seems so very young to have this ... but don’t lose hope many of us have it here .. I do too and I’m in remission .. it’s relatively easy to keep it under control .
My eyes were only itchy sticky and gritty I didn’t have any protrusion ... but as you’ve said ... that too , can be fixed these days .
I wish him well and hope he too will be Euthyroid very soon .
Take care and come back if and when YOUD like to get answers
for your Son.
