Hi, I just got my sons coeliac blood test back via a hospital letter. It said that it came back showing positive IgG endomysial antibodies and that for this reason an endoscopy is necessary. What is the likelihood of him having coeliac with such a result?
I should think there is a good liklihood and I'd say get him in to have one. Not everyone gets offered one, and to get him properly diagnosed woud be a big help in the management of it. Here's an important piece of information though. It is best if you do NOT cut out gluten before the endescope, because if you do, you can get an innacurate reading. Do check information with Ceoliac UK https://www.coeliac.org.uk/home/
They are very up-to-date with all the latest advice. Best of luck
Hi MAggieBgood, thaks for your reply. My son is having an endoscopy next thusday for further investigation. We havent cut gluten as were given the same dvice you ave regarding te innacurate result .
Good luck with it all. Hope he gets sorted, I remember how miserable I was before I was diagnosed.
Thank-you :-) Its just been too long now and we need to get him sorted out as soon as possible
