My stapedectomy story ( Failure )

i had my stapedectomy surgery in Spire London East by Mr. Anthony Owa on 29/sep/2021 . Prior to the surgery , i was very healthy and fit 30 years old and my inner ear was very healthy and perfect candidate for the surgery. Mr Owa told me that he only had failures due to infection and he told me that they give antibiotic to prevent it . I felt ok to go to surgery with him as he was talking quite confidence and told me that he is doing this surgery on daily basis. Right after surgery, i was vomiting so much and extreme vertigo . i felt that something definetly went wrong but the nurses was telling me that operation went ok and being told that all my symptoms normal and i was chucked out from Spire London East at about midnight and i was still vomiting a lot and was extremely dizzy. I thought I am gonna die as vertigo and vomiting never stopped . My family was so shocked and angry about how they discharged me without controlling my post op symptoms as the night nurse looked like she wanted to get rid of everyone in ward as its normally day case operation. the next day my vomiting and dizziness never stopped and i told my wife to call A&E . She called the ward and they told her to bring me in but i was not able to walk couple meters even with a support . In the end , she had to go to hospital and collected some medicine for me. After couple days my vomiting stopped but severe dizziness never got better and we emailed to Mr Anthony Owa's secretary about my situation and also how bad i was treated right after surgery. She booked me an appointment following week with the dr . In my appointment, i explained all my concerns to the dr but he did not look to bothered about my dizziness as he was telling me it will get better and said i will be ok . I was keep going from appointment to appointment as my symptoms never got better and my life was unbearable but he was only giving me ear drops and sending me home . When i asked for the ct scan to see whats going wrong in my ear . He told me that i do not need any but i done quite research and talked different drs and all was pointing to the my prosthesis might be too long but my own dr did not even mention it until 2 months after , i was really fed up and angry as i started struggling socialising and being in public as all the sound and etc was making me so dizzy and i was constantly dizzy. Before this happened , in one of the appointments he told me that i got ear drum perforation as well and he booked me in for another surgery and said that he will check the implant while he was closing my ear drum as well. It was just over 2 months and he told me that i might have longer prosthesis and told. i had second surgery on 3rd December 2021 . He told me that the implant was too long and also lots of scar tissue formed around it and pulled in more . i was not surprised as he did not act quick as i was so dizzy all the time and he kept me living like that until scar tissue formed and cause more problem . About 3 weeks after second surgery, I lost most of my hearing and had severe tinnitus. Now its 6 months out surgery. I am still dizzy living with tinnitus and hearing loss. he basically ruined my life . I basically got 0 trust in him as before the second surgery , I asked him on the phone about how my cochlear got affected after first operation and he told me that my cochlear is fine . He basically lied to me on that phone call as when i learned how to read hearing test , i noticed that my inner ear been damaged after first operation . if i did know that , i would not go to second surgery with him . He defiently do this surgery very basic and i dont believe he s got competent skills to operate this surgery . If youre lucky , you can have good result with him but as i said , he does the procedure very basic as he couldnt even judge length of prosthesis and caused me all the problem . This is my story and hope it helps other people to do more research before they go under surgery.
