My SVT episode heart rate went up to 244

How fast has your heart gotten up to?

I never measured but it very fast ... like a machine gun.

Haopens once or twice a year with either a sudden activity or eating too much ... and I have it for 20 years.

Hi Halle

As you get older it gets slower

Hi - I had SVT for 14 years until Nov 14 when I had the ablation ( touch wood nothing since) mine would get up to 240.

258  but managed to stop it with a crushed pill and half a litre of water. Absolutely no reason for it to happen as I was sat indoors watching TV.

273 bpm

ps. im an 11 yr old girl - diagnosed last month

hope this helps xx

I have episodes 4-6 times a year.. I'm now 39yr old. Typical HR is 225bpm. My episodes only happen during workouts where my average HR during those workouts are in the 140-155bpm zone (Mostly cardio workouts). I'm seeing a eblation specialist next week to discuss treatment options. I hate the mentel stress this has put on me.

Mine usually average about 240bpm and last 45mins to an hour however the last SVT attack i had lasted 90 mins, the one before that lasted 10 mins and the one before that lasted four hours. All of which i managed to stop myself before i got to hospital.

saix .. HOW did you manage to stop it ?

Hi Jay,

the most recent one that lasted 90 minutes actually just stopped naturally as i was led flat on the sofa.  I just made sure i was calm and breathing slowly and staying as relaxed as possible. The 10 minute one stopped as i was getting into the passenger seat of my boyfriends car to go to the hospital - this was probably down to a change in posture. And the one that lasted for four hours i was able to stop by doing the valsalva maneuver (holding my breath and bearing down)

Hope this helps

i have to go to the emergency room 2 times a month and get the horrible adenosine for the past yar and now im set to have my ablation on the 9th november i go in on a monday at 12 they do it on a tuesday and thn i leave on a wednesday x

How did your ablation go?  Are you feeling better?

Mine is scheduled for Dec. 9th, this coming Wednesday.  I am nervous, but also looking forward to a possible cure.

Thanks for your feedback everyone.  I have decided to get the RF catheter ablation on Wednesday, Dec. 9th.  I am nervous.  My PVC's have really increased since October, too.  Weird.   I hope they can cure me!

But, I'm 39!  How old do I need to be for them to slow down?

Don't worry, I had my ablation Nov 14 for my SVT (used to get it every 3/4 weeks, 240 BPM, normally went after 30 mins) and I haven't had any since or even a single knock.

The first 2/3 weeks post procedure is weird, your waiting for it to start and it doesn't!

The procedure is relaxed, they are totally on top of things and just think of afterwards.

Good luck!

Chris

GOOD LUCK Halle, best wisshes  .- - - you are braver than me, I just rely on the drug ( being such a coward)

Curious how that went?  I hear you on the stress :-(

Ive heard the opposite happens. But i sure hope your right!!

I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago. The first time my heart rate was at 150. Since then ive had 3 episodes that were all around 130 bpm. After a few min 10 or so my heart rate goes back down.
