My wisdom teeth gum is swollen and I have a dark scab on the side of my molar beside it. Cavity?

Two days ago I noticed my right wisdom tooth gum is very swollen.  It hurts when I touch it and bite down on food but it is not excrutiating.  It’s still swollen a bit but it has gone some.  I dont think my wisdom teeth are coming in because I am still very young.  I really dont know what this it

I also have this hard dark scab thing on the back molar where my gums are swelling.  It’s on the outside of my tooth.  I noticed it yesterday and tried to pick it out and brushing it since I thought it was a stain.  The thing is it doesn’t hurt at all no matter how much I poke it or pick at it so could this really be a cavity?  

Perhaps that tooth is making my gums swell but I don’t think so.  The black spot is on the side of my tooth towards the middle away from my gum and it isn’t giving me pain.  So maybe it’s just two unlucky things occuring at the same time.  This is awful for me since I have a bad phobia of the dentist.

Im sure its nothing bad. I to have a fear of the dentist, but I always go just in case. The dentists see lots of nervous people, so dont worry to much.

I would get it checked out, then you wont have to worry about it. Tell the dentist that you are nervous and worried. They will understand.

While you are waiting for the dentist, you could make a saline mouth wash. You just put a few teaspoons of salt into some warm water and gargle with it.

It can help with the gums.
