In late January 2015 I was on the swim team. One day I hurt my ankle and it was very swollen. It was purple as well. For a week my parents and I gave it time to heal. But I went to the doctors and was diagnosed with a sever sprain.
I got put in an short velcro lace up boot for a week. After the week it looked better but still hurt. I thought it would go away and did not want to go to the doctors. I thought that it was nothing because of the doctor.
8 months later in August I still had bad ankle pain. My dad and mom talked and dad took me to the doctors. I had my first MRI. It showed that I had swelling in two of my tendons and a pulled muscle.
I got in a heavy duty velcro tall ankle boot for 6 weeks. After that I wore a lace up ankle brace and had physical thearpy. It still hurt but at that point I was tired of doctors.
It stopped hurting severly and so I just went through life because I already lost a lot of my kid stuff and being 14 and over weight I could not keep my weight down still in pain.
Revently I went back to my doctor again in sever pain. He gave me a shot of quarter zone and took blood to rule out any genetic issues.
I went back a few weeks later still in pain surprising him telling that the shot did not help. Nothing showed up in the blood tests. My doctor was at a dead end. So I was scheduled for another MRI.
That MRI showed that I have one bone in my ankle longer and one shorter but it is not causing me pain because luckily it is not connected but it could be a feature problem.
My doctor told me that he had no idea what was wrong. I am schelduled for a appointment with a orthopedic ankle doctor the 15th of June. I was finally given 800 millagrams of IBprophine to help with the pain but it does not work great.
I am hoping for answers on the 15th. I am 14 and can't even jump on a trampoline or walk up stairs without stpoing or needing support. I could really use some advice or thoughts.
Please give me some advice, encourage, thoughts, or ideas of what it is. I could really use it at this point.
