Mystery pain (upper left side)

Hello, I am so confused about what i need to do next. So my pain and discomfort started a month ago. At first I just thought maybe I had slept on my side wrong and it was sore. Little did I know that this was nothing that was just going to dissapear. So I made a appointment with my family physicianfor the next two days to see him in his office. When i went to the visit he thought it could possibly be my gallbladder even though the pain is on my left side. So he ran blood work and scheduled me to have a ultrasound done. The ultrasound showed nothing wrong but only to find that I have a 2cm cyst on my left kidney. I asked him if that could be causing my pain and he told me no. Well so the next day the discomfort got worse so I went to get a second opinion and went to the ER. They ran more blood labs and did an X-ray. They said the x-ray came back fine and that my blood work looks good and my pancreas and my gallbladder lab enzymes looked fine. So they sent me home with local pain medication and anti inflammatory. My doctor called and said they want to schedule me to go have a CT scan done. I was then been hurting for two weeks so I was hopeful for some answers. Went for the CT scan but the CT scan showed nothing wrong once again. It only showed the cyst on my kidney and fat on my liver. The next day I was so frustrated I drove across town to another ER. They done another X-ray and more blood work and again said everything looked fine and said he thought I had chostochondritis. My doctor said if it is chostochondritis for me to wait two weeks and call them if it does not get better. Well two weeks has rolled around again and still in pain. I called my doctor back and they are now referring me to see a gastrointestinal specialist because their is nothing more my doctor can do. I am so lost at this point. This discomfort has taken my life over. The only time I can get any relief is if I am laying flat on my back or on my side. Sometimes food does seem to make it worse or more noticable. It has visual swelling to it and it hurts in certain spots if i push on it. Anybody have any idea what could be going on with me ?

It doesn’t sound like costochondritis because this condition doesn’t cause swelling and doesn’t get worse after eating. It sounds more like a digestive problem. Try a food diary to see what food could be triggering pain I have had costochondritis and I did not have the symptoms you describe. Keep going back to your doctor or change your doctor.

Yeah my doctor just diagnosed me with anything to get me out of the office because they said wait two weeks and then call back if I was still in pain. They now referred me to see a gastro specialist.

That sounds like a step forward.
