Can I substitute a meal for a nutritional drink instead before taking Naltrexone. I am used to drinking on an empty stomach. Plus, I am actually not very hungry until I have a few drinks. Thank you.
Hi Kelly, I think anything you put in your stomach will help using Naltrexone. I have found that it is much more effective with just a little something before you drink. I usually drink on an empty stomach too and that's when I've gotten in trouble. I've been using the Sinclair Method for three months and see a significant change in my alcohol behavior. Good luck! 😁
I have tried it about a year ago and had trouble with side effects. Definitely willing to give it another chance. So, maybe if I do the nutrition drink along with a few crackers, wait an hour, take the pill, wait another hour and drink. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you!!!!
Anything is better than nothing, Kelly. Whatever you can manage. You might also want to start out on a lesser dose until the side effects clear.
Thank you!!! I have a doctor who understands TSM so I will be starting at a lower dose. Is the time frame I used correct for when to eat, take the pill and drink?
I believe you can eat and take the pill at the same time. When I take the pill and don't eat something, I get a little nauseated.
Thank you. I already blew it for today. But will take the pill and have a nutrition drink an hour before I drink alcohol tomorrow. My stomach is sensitive so I know I'll have to have "something" in my stomach.
