Anyone take Naproxen alongside triptans, any help to you ?
Have just started doing this on advice of Specialist Headache Nurse who advised taking Naproxen at same time as trip tan then a further dose of Naproxen after 4-6 hours even if the pain has resolved in order to avoid the migraine recurring- this was what had been happening with me. So far have only tried this once, and it did seem to work , but as my migraines are very inconsistent, will have to try this a few times to see if it really effective.

Thanks for this, Ive Ben on trip tans for 20 or so years but they have become less effective. My migraine last for three days coming back once the triptan wears off, so usually take three tablets each episode. New GP has changed me to Frovatriptan and added the naproxen to take alongside. I will take it as you suggest and see how it goes, fingers crossed x
Like you, have been on trip tans for many years. Have just changed from rizatriptan to naratriptran as this reportedly lasts longer although can be slower to take initial effect.......here's hoping!
