My Doctor prescribed Narproxen for swelling of the Piriformis Muscle and the Sciatic Nerve pain relating to a past THR.

3 days after taking the drug both legs and ankles have swollen up and are painful so I have stopped the drug.

Has anyone else experienced this problem on NSAIDS?

I havent had that problem with naproxen but my friend whose a nurse was prescribed it for athritis and i remember her legs and ankles became swollen so she stopped taking it . Lynnex

I’ve been on Naproxen for a couple of years now, had no problems at all.
They did tell me to stop taking few days before my Op, guess best thing is to get in touch with your GP on Monday…:thinking::+1:

I was prescribed Naproxen for knee problems.
3 days later I was out walking and my scalp started itching. It quickly spread down my arms, chest, stomach and legs.
I was covered in spots which changed into blotches and swelling.
No more naproxen which is a pity as they killed most of the pain.

Thanks for the replies. I did find they helped the pain but I can hardly do up my shoes or boots!
