Hello, I'm new to this forum and I have come here hoping someone has gone through something similar because I'm out of options. I'm a 30 year old male. Eleven months ago (October 2020) I was playing in a league billiards match and got incredibly nauseous, so much so that I had to leave early. This lasted about 3 days. I figured it was some flu-bug. Then it came back a week later. This continued off and on for about a month. I meant to a walk-in clinic in November and because there was no stomach pain the best they could come up with was reflux. They prescribed me Omeprazole. This did nothing to help. The nausea continued to get worse and I went back to the clinic on Christmas day. They still had no answers and upped my dose of Omeprazole but also prescribed Zofran. Still no relief. I went to go see a G.I. specialist. I've had multiple blood tests taken, an ultrasound performed, a gastric emptying test, and also an upper endoscopy. All came back fine. They sent a polyp to a lab to have it tested. That came back fine. They tested for H. Pylori bacteria, and nothing there. I've also been tested for sucralose, sucrose, glucose, and lactose intolerances as well as gluten intolerance. All good there as well. I've never vomited from my nausea. Then one day I was driving for work and was heading to a job site about an hour from my house. The closer I got to the job site I began getting very light-headed and was having vertigo-like symptoms. It got so bad that I feared I may pass out so I pulled over. My boss sent two other employees out to get me and take me home. The nausea, for the most part reduced and the dizziness became my main issue. I went to the doctor and he ordered a brain MRI. They didn't see much but some sinus inflammation. Steroids and antibiotics treated that and the dizziness and nausea remained. The dizziness was mainly associated with driving a vehicle. I was recommended to a ENT. The ear specialist ordered another MRI, this time with images of the ear canals. I also had a caloric stimulation test on my ears. This showed that I had some inner ear nerve damage in my left ear, but the MRI didnt show much. I began seeing a physical therapist for vestibular rehab. The nausea became minor and it seemed like the physical therapy was helping. Then one night my chest started hurting and my heart felt like it was working way too hard and breathing became somewhat labored. I had my wife take me to the ER in fear that I may have a heart attack. Once checked into the ER, my EKGs came back fine as well as a chest x-ray. I was sent home. After discussing with my physical therapist and the ENT, they said its common to develop anxiety with ear issues. I now see a therapist every week and I'm on Ativan for the anxiety, which helps. The nausea is minor but is still FAR too frequent, the dizziness is almost completely gone, but I have some fairly significant anxiety, especially when driving. Is it possible anxiety caused all of this? Before all of this, I was FAR from an anxious person, very calm 99% of the time. My next step is to see a pulmonologist and then get a sleep study ordered based on a discussion I had with my therapist. I've been 99% sure I have sleep apnea for about 5-6 years. She thinks sleep apnea could be causing and/or aggravating my anxiety. I apologize for this story being so long and all over the place, but thats how this past year has been. I just dont understand how one day I'm fine and literally the next day Im hit with dibilitating nausea that has snowballed into this mess. Every specialist I see basically says I'm a healthy man. Does anyone have any insight? Thanks, Bryan
