Nauseous with no appetite

hi I've suffered from health anxiety all my life and have had 3 months of hell due to heart probs....fast, slow, missed beats etc. awaiting results of  cardiology tests which I should have on Friday. Nausea has never really been an issue for me but it has for the last couple of months. I've lost some weight and this is causing me great anxiety!! It's never ending! Can anyone help please? Anyone suffer the nausea, loss of appetite and weight loss? Thanks.

Hi. Yes I have felt all these things. Horrid isn't it. Regarding missed heartbeats, I have these and they are scary. I hope your tests are ok. One thing that helps me is something that my extremely good GP said. Missed heartbeats are common in overstimulated hearts (anxiety) but nothing to worry about in a healthy heart. There are various things that trigger a heart beat and if one misfires another will trigger a beat. Also worrying about it when it is happening can make missed beats happen more often. I know it is a horrid feeling but if you can accept it and distract yourself and once you know your heart is healthy tell yourself its ok and will beat.. Again I know that's difficult to do but it does help. I wish you all the best.

Fear in itself can stop an appetite. The only thing you can do is try and learn to meditate. There are tons of apps and you tube videos to find one you like. Any illness sucks. Anxiety is difficult in and of itself but when real illnesses begin to manifest oh boy the levels soar. stress can do wild things to the body and manifest many illness. It just beats the body up. Hope all your tests come out well.

When I forget to take my meds or am off them (I had a period of time where I thought I was ok without) I will get into bouts of extreme loss of appetite.  I have had it go on for weeks.  the one time I found a small bottle of Ativan I had from a few years back and took a couple and amazingly my appetite was back in less than a hour!  Goes to show you that anxiety CAN cause no appetite, and it can stretch out for a long time if you dont treat the underlying anxiety.
