Wrap it loosely with an ACE bandage or get a "knee sleeve". This will prevent it rubbing against sheets and clothing. Easy fix. Also, have the doc prescribe you some tubes of Voltaren Gel (RX)...best topical anti-inflammatory on the planet.
PS: It only seems like 2 forward and 3 back when it's actually the opposite...but the pain and length of the recover make it seem that way. For almost all of us, it hurts and takes a long while to get better...but it's worth it...

Hi...I know they probably want you to let the air heal up the wound but I know that there are those oversized bandages you can cover the incision with that would keep from rubbing on your clothes or blanket at night and just wear shorts until you heal in your home..just an idea...hope you get well soon.
The hair if growing back around the knee, I had the same problem so I shaved the hair off every time I feel it getting real sensitive, btw it's normal.
Your welcome.Got to do some crazy things to get back to normal huh....best wishes on your recovery.
You might need something to relieve the sensitive feeling. My leg and knee where hypersensitive for over 12 weeks. I started taking gabapentin all the way to 3600mg a day to deal with it, I still have some discomfort and have not worn long pants since May but I'm almost there. Hope that helps, good luck.
