Nearly 6 weeks

Hi everyone, been really busy lately, as far as the hip goes... great!!! no pain, walking without stick in the house, driving, got my hair done, and shopping etc. but there's a down side, before I went into hospital I was on 10mg of amlodopine for high bp, after the opp the hospital said I didn't need it as my bp was low to normal, so a week after I got home my gp called me and said the hospital had been in touch and told him, he said not to take anymore intill he'd seen me, well I tried to get an appt, but as usual because he;s the fav. Dr. I can't see him till the 17th sept, well I take my bp every morning and evening, for the first 4 weeks it stayed around 120/60. then last week it started creeping up again, very slowly at first, but now its at 158/81 just now and this morning it was 153/76. so I have strated my meds again on the low dose untill monday when i can call my gp for a fone conssult, I just wondered if anybody else had been through this, it seems that I get over one thing to be hit with another.

Love Lynne.

Hi Lynne,

Isnt it great to have your independence back after THR .

Sorry to hear about ur Bp. Monday first thing it would be a good idea to leave a message with the doctors nurse about what you posted above regarding your GP going up! They may have a solution for you before your next appt.

Hope your able to get ur Bp under control soon.

Mine's been up and down too. The problem is, the more I think about it ,the higher it seems to get! Wait and speak to your fave GP, don't worry!

Trisha

Dear Lynne -

Good to hear about your progress ... i am having 2nd THR September 10 () ..

I have high bloodpressure too and on medication for it (for years)  -

The not so good thing is that the pain medication can change the effect of the BP meds ... I find my BP high - 145/85 and sometimes higher !!! My GP doesn;t think it is that bad ... Now in Los Angeles it would have been a different story and my meds would have been changed ... In Holland this is sort of OK ...

I also was told that taking Bp first thing in the morning will give a higher reading that later in the day ...

take care and try to stay calm .... take deep breaths and slow down ..

big warm hug and love

renee

Hi all I was told that normal BP for a person is 140/80 pewrhaps that is blokes, I was also high 180/90 have the same tablets Amlodopine, and also Bisoprolo, tiny little ones, so fiddley to get out the blister pack, I also take 10mg Ramapril before sleeping and the only time I use Tramadol atm is for night time, well early morning sleep time, I am pleased to report I am getting stronger on my left now, my legs measure up the same, and putting socks on without the gadget...

Last week of recovery now back to work on 15th sept...Phew....  soon be November and we have a Poker festival in Blackpool for a week, hope I get to deal in that again this year.  Totsiens all ....Later Aligator....Ian.

My BP's have always been spot on, even during both pregnancies when my first born was a whopping 10lb 12oz!!!

After every surgery though I seem to have a day or two of low BP which sometimes prevents me from getting up on my feet as soon as I would like due to lightheadness when I stand.

I can't comment on high BP though obviously it's something your GP needs to be informed of asap. I know of people who know instinctively when their BP is going up due to strange fuzzy headaches and sometimes nosebleeds. Having had this for a while now I'm sure you will have an idea how to deal with it until you get to speak to your GP.

Take care.

Hiya Lynne

Interesting

As my BP dropped to 99/65 in hospital they recommended my stopping 10mg of same drug as yours. They also recommended a drug for renal function as blood tests funny.

My excellent GP refused saying hospitals are funny places...and bp and kidneys settled down.
