My recovery has been going really well. Scars are healing well; bruising gone; appetite good. Pain pretty much gone - just some sharp twinges. The only thing I do still have is a bloated belly. Is this usual? I don't feel any gas pain anymore. Pre op I had a lot of bloating from my gallstones problem, and I am so looking forward to that going. Otherwise I feel so much better than before.
So glad you're recovery seems to be going well Lynne ππ. Keep us updated over the next little while xx
Hi! I'm 9 days post op, I have no pain with the exception of the scar on the top of my abdomen ( around GB area)
It started to bother me the last 2 days but not really bad, I do feel bloated every single time I eat and somethings I feel full even if I don't eat , I think it's normal , it will take time until things get back to normal , my BM is very crazy , I go every other day sometimes every 2 days and had diarrhea onceπ©, I'm really hoping it will feel normal , I heard it can take up to 6 months for the body to adapt without the GB.
I think it's normal to feel bloated. I'm five months post op and still feel it. They recommend you don't eat big meals but spread the calories over a longer period. I look on it as pay back for loosing the awful pain. You can't have removal of an organ and not have any side effects at all. Maybe avoid dizzy drinks and baked beans?
Also I have a ten inch horizontal scar as I had to have open surgery and there's a lot of scar tissue along the incision which I've been told will improve in time, but I couldn't wear a bra post op (do now) and I wear loose tops and dresses to hide the fact I have this roll of tissue around my middle. It makes me feel bloated.
Otherwise, apart from tenderness on the right side, I'm doing ok. Feeling better than I have in years!
