Need Advice & some reassurance. Been a tuff 7 months

I’m a 31 year old male.

Since summer i have just not felt like myself, like I just don’t feel energetic and some days I feel like complete crap. I have a lymph node that I noticed was enlarged for 8 months now and had a ultra sound on the left side of the back of my neck. DR said it was reactive and 1.3 cm so a little enlarged. She didn’t seem worried. Just said to monitor it and make sure it doesn’t get any bigger. I do get alot of neck tension and head pressure

My labs also have shown elevated liver (ALT Levels) which I do have a bad gall bladder so my doctor wants me to get that removed and check again.

But I just can’t get the worrying to stop. I have two beautiful little boys and another son on the way. And my anxiety of feeling like something is wrong in my body is driving me insane. Worrying that the lymph node or liver elevated ALT levels is because of cancer some where. I just want some kind of test or something to reassure me That I don’t have cancer, can anyone relate or been threw something similar, how did u get relief? The anxiety is driving me insane. It’s starting to effect my quality of life I’m used too. Is there a test someone has had done to give u relief ,That u don’t have cancer someone could recommend? Open to any suggestions or advice.

The labs that you had done would have shown elevated white blood count and possibly other results if you had cancer.
i have had an elevated ALT several times and I am perfectly healthy. The doctors didn’t worry about it so either did I. they really should have gone over your labs with you more thoroughly to reassure you. You can actually call them to ask about all the results.
usually, swollen lymph nodes are not serious. Most of the time it’s that they are fighting an infection such as a virus. I can tell you that I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck, armpit, groin for no apparent reason. I must’ve had some type of infection. My kids usually got swollen lymph Nodes when they were sick like with the flu etc.
but you can always get another opinion from a different doctor. doctors look at the bloodwork and if it’s not way off, then there’s a wait and see approach.
Obviously they didn’t see anything alarming in your blood work. if they did, they would have had do you do some other test. So it’s really up to you what you want to do .
You have the right to get a better explanation! If it were me, I would call and ask to speak to my doctor. I would ask my doctor to explain each area of my blood test. I would also ask why are you taking the wait and see approach? What information made you come to that decision? there’s no reason why you should have to constantly think about this and worry. If they had explained things to you better, you wouldn’t be feeling this way. So ask questions!it will give you peace of mind. You’re going to be OK!
