I suffer from health anxiety and it's bad at the moment, over the past few years I e convinced myself I've had lung, bone, and stomach cancer only a few months ago, I've had X-rays blood checks and of course a camera down my throat all good but now I'm convinced I have bowel cancer because I've had pressure in my anus, doc had a look and didn't see anything but said it could still be hemmroids, it's got better recently but what should I do should I go for a camera up now, I don't want to
Love my life I'm the docs
Mate im only 22 and have had 2 colonoscopies done now.. due to the fact i had blood in my stool and bowel cancer runs in the family. Honestly nothing to worry about with the procedure, my troubles were from anxiety and not being able to digest dairy properly. If your truly worried just get it done
Thanks mate I appreciate the response,
Yeah I may get it done just for peace of mind.
I would have it done. The peace of mind it brings is inexplicable.
Hi James you will have the colonoscopy and it will relieve your mind for a day or two until the next symptom triggers your fear of cancer.I hope you have talked to your doctor about your health anxiety and he is getting you the help you need
As I said previously I would have the colonoscopy done.
When it has been done then take it from there.
Take care
Hello James, I'm sorry you're going through this. Did your doctor actually suggest that you have a colonoscopy or is this just what you want? I was in a similar situation a couple of months back and actually did have it done and it turns out I did have celiac as well as polyps that were removed, and it made me feel so much better because I had literally convinced myself that I had colon cancer, which I guess I did have some reason to believe that. But if your doctor has recommended it then I would say definitely get it done. If you strongly feel that there is something wrong, I would request it. But this is coming from someone who constantly goes to the doctor b/c of my health anxiety, so I would say go with your gut.
Thank you my symptoms are a bit better now but I'm still gonna have it done just for peace of mind x
Thank you it's me that wants it done I'm very much like you lol I'll do it for peace of mind x thank you for your help x
It is a fairly common problem and can result from conditions such as hemorrhoids or anal fissures. Rectal pain can be associated with symptoms such as prolapse, pressure, or bleeding. Rectal or anal pain can also occur with inflammatory diseases of the bowel, localized infections, or minor injuries to the area. Take Care💕
