- i was diagnosed 6 years ago and just accepted it. i had the first outbreak within two weeks (right thigh) which is how i realized i had it and then once more (shaft this time) at the end of that same year due to stress from a breakup. both were normal outbreaks, visible sores, fever, irritation. once both were over, i had no symptoms for years. 5 years to be exact. and then nov 2019, i woke up and my scrotum was red and on fire. like extreme itching that wont let u even sit still! no other symptoms tho? no fever no sores no dry skin shedding no nothing but just severe itching? the extreme severity of it lasted for a month even with taking several different prescriptions and then after a month it calmed down but never has really subsided and has been around in a form of very very mild but constant itching which from time to time changes in severity from mild to definitely uncomfortable but still has never approached the level at which it started happening thankfully. my issue is that since nov 19 it has not subsided at all and it is now may 2020… i need to add that i still have not had an actual outbreak where i have open sores and general fever / normal symptoms since my second outbreak in year one. ..my question is has anyone else experienced this? does anyone have an explanation? at this point ive just learned to ignore it best i can and i take a daily dose of 1000mg valacyclovir, including twice a day when the itching is unbearable. it does not help the itching but like i said i havent had a true symptomatic outbreak since year one but im curious if anyone else has had this same issue. male, 26. diagnosed at 20yo
