Can someone please explain in a simple manner what these numbers mean taking into consideration the type of lenses that were implanted or explanted; ie., how much has my vision changed after the 4 surgeries as listed in the table?

Well all you will get from me is simple since I’m no expert :).
- means you are more farsighted, - means you are more nearsighted.
Right eye:
looks like presurgery you were 1.75 diopters farsighted. You had very little astigmatism - 0 means none so .25 isn’t bad at all. Many times they won’t try to correct that.
Postop symphony you were -.5 diopters nearsighted. Decent result. I’m not sure what dr was shooting for, but 0 would be 20/20. -.5 diopters nearsighted should help with reading vision. you have slightly more astigmatism. Seems around .5 is where you will get a benefit correcting with glasses. I have .5 in one eye and definitely see better with correction. As your eye “settled more” or sometimes you just get different readings, you are a little more near sighted -.75 now. I don’t know a lot about the symfony lens are what they shoot for, but moving into your exchange with a monofocal, you said the dr was targeting distance. -1 is not a good result. -1 means your clearest vision is 1 meter or 39 inches away. You won’t see at all well in the distance with that. Additionally you have a little more astigmatism .75 which I think would definitely benefit from a glasses prescription.
In summary, you started out far sighted, and with each surgery/measurement you ended up more near sighted. I’m not sure if the original dr did the exchange, but I’d definitely get a second opinion.
Left eye:
presurgery you were 1.75 diopters farsighted like your right eye. You have a little more astigmatism so glasses would help this also.
Post op symfony. you are slightly nearsighted -.5 diopters. Again decent result. You have a little more astigmatism. I’m guessing the dr didn’t try to correct that during your surgery. Second and 3rd post op measurements are the same with respect to your nearsightedness. Your astigmatism got worse and then better. But my very limited knowledge with astigmatism thinks you would benefit getting this corrected or wearing glasses. Others on here know much more! Are you planning on exchanging this lens also? In summary for this eye, you started out farsighted, ended slightly nearsighted with the symfony so your distance vision may be slightly blurry. The astigmatism could be affecting your vision some also.
Someone please correct me if I am incorrect on any of this!
Sorry my “+” turned into an indentation. So the second line should read “+ means you are more farsighted, - means you are more nearsighted”
Hi, thank you for your interpretation.I can’t figure it out even with your help.Wish my surgeon was a better communicator…
