I know I am positive for both but the out of range is what I don't understand and does IgG testing mean I was recently infected or is this established
How long post exposure did you get tested?
I can remember when I was around 13 or so I had a cold sore on my lip. I don't know what age I began to get small genital lesions but thought nothing of it. Back in July I had an outbreak but when I went I to the doctor he said if I had herpes I would know and I didn't have herpes and lesions on the vagina were normal. I have no idea when or how long I've had hsv2.
As mentioned elsewhere, it means it's established, but nobody can say for sure how established. Could be months or years. IgG typically shoots up after infection and remains fairly high thereafter, coming down over time to a degree and at different amounts/rates for different people. The IgG for both HSV types cannot be compared either, since HSV1 IgG values always seem to be much higher than HSV2 regardless.
