Hi!
I'm 39 years old and I'm 10 days out from having surgery. I had an abdominal myomectomy. My Dr. Removed 17 fibroids. I'm getting around ok, but the surgery area is still swollen and the area seems to be getting hard. I've seen some post about massaging the area, however it's still very tender. Just a little concern, any advice is welcomed
Thank you!
It's normal for the area to be swollen for a few weeks. Mine was swollen for at least 4-5 weeks. The swelling will go down very slowly and the incision area will gradually get back its senses but not completely which isn't a big deal. It's good to massage the area very slightly with your fingers if you can tolerate it. Don't go near the incision but try to massage around it. This will help with the circulation and the healing process and decrease the chances of forming scar tissue. Also it's good to apply some natural oils or creams only once the incision has completely healed. Good luck!
Thanks for the advice!
