So I have been suffering with panic attacks and health anxiety for nearly two months now. I'm not giving up or giving in, in fact I'd say I'm doing the opposite. It goes up and down, but my determination to get through this is always there. Yesterday for example I was so determined to get through this anyway I could, but today my determination is a bit down. I hear stories of people suffering from anxiety for years or even decades. That's just not me. Before this I was confident and almost happy. But now I feel like I'm going insane. I know it takes time to deal with this but I guess I'm impatient. All my symptoms (Dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, heart palpitations, ringing in ears, feeling of going crazy) just bother me because they won't go away. I know I need to give it time and I am trying but I don't intend to suffer for much longer. I'm on fluoxetine, I'm going to do CBT, I do mindfulness and mediation stuff. I really don't know what else to do, I'm hoping CBT will help a lot. Sometimes I feel like I'm dying and that's what scares me the most. I've had an MRI, blood tests, holter monitor, ECG and more so I'm physically okay I think. I guess what I want to know most is can I ever get back to the way I used to be, because I need to be like that. I don't want this to get the best of me, and I will do anything I can to not let that happen. Peace and love
Hi Ross, your determination will get you through it, doing CBT will be a big help as will the meds, when folk say they have suffered it for years etc they generally mean on and off, I've suffered from anxiety and depression for over 20 years on and off.
Your not going insane nor will you,
Dont dispare you will get better.

Hi Ross you certainly have the right attitude however you must have patience and don't allow frustration to take over.It has been said the best way to overcome anxiety is accept the symptoms and not to fear them. The less you fear ànxiety the less you fuel ànxiety and it decreases.Keep doing what you are doing and also prepare for setbacks as recovery is not a straight line.Do not let that defeat you.You won't be the person you were you will be a better version of you.
