I need help… my TSH is at 36. I’m taking 39.5 micrograms of Tirosint per day. I need to take more thyroid medication but my body for some reason is blocking my taking any more medication. If I take 1 more microgram a week, I get extreme hyper symptoms. It’s physiological. I’m on high doses of blood pressure medication and beta-blockers in order to control hyper symptoms although I’m hypothyroid. Five doctors have tested everything and can’t come up with an answer. Top doctors in San Diego and Los Angeles tell me that if I can’t get more medication in me I will die.
To make things worse, in October 2017 I was diagnosed with lung cancer and need surgery but with my TSH number so high doctors have said I would not wake up after the surgery.
Has anyone had a problem like this and has found an answer.
Oh my, I'm so sorry you are going through this! My guess is your blood pressure issues are due to your thyroid problems. The goal is to get your numbers down and in range. Have you tried another kind of thyroid medicine? In addition, have you tried to address it in a functional medicinal way such as an AI Paleo diet? I would go hardcore diet wise as you really need to have your surgery done. It's certainly worth a try.
Yes, my blood pressure is linked to my thyroid numbers. I've been to five of the top doctors in San Diego and Los Angeles. Something is blocking my body from getting more medication. The doctors have tested everything. They've reached out to other doctors in other parts of the country. I can't be the only person that has this problem, but apparently at this point I am. I've posted my problem in hopes that someone else has been through this and had an answer. I we can't find an answer and lower my TSH numbers, I can't have the surgery.
