I am trying to investigate maoi meds for anxiety as ssris dont help me, nor do tricyclics. Does Nyone know of side effects?
MAOI actually has a lot of side effects. Its not really an anti depressant which is used a lot due to the side effects. First of all you should know that there are dietary restrictions. You cannot have any aged cheese or any smoked, pickled or cured meat products. Basically you cannot have foods which contain Tyramine since it will cause a hypertensive crisis (you will get very high blood pressure). Other side effects are dry mouth, upset stomach, urinary hesitancy and headache. I hope this helps you.
Yes, dr explained that to me but i have tried so many anti deps this would be a final,stab at recovery. Ssris dont do well for me. Too muhc anxiety. Does anyone still,takemthis med? Imhave been told,Nardil,is more effective.
