i am 39 yr old and a week ago i was with my husband in bed. he has poison ivy which was fine with me because i have never been able to catch it. during intercourse he stated that he had a burning feeling down there so we stopped and checked and he had a couple little spots that looked like poison ivy. i wasnt worried because like i said i dont catch it. we didnt finishe we just went to bed. the next morning i woke up ittching down there and thought that i had gotten it. the next day after that it kept getting worse it started burning when i urinated and the itch was really bad. the hospital checked it out and took urine test and it came back as i has a uti. the dr said that she didnt see no signs of poison ivy and that maybe it was a yeast infection to go with the uti. so she perscribed me macrbid for the uti pyridium for the burning during urination and 1 single pill dyflucan for the yeast infection. i took the meds as told to and still no better after 2 days it has gotten even worse. i now had white patches on my vulva with some leisons. i went to my pcp and she checked and said it mite be herpes.i have never had any signs or symptoms ever and the std test they did in the hospital came back negitive. so the dr perscribed me yet again the dyflucan for yeast and acyclovir if it is herpes. she ordered a blood test and im still waiting on the results but im not patient and it could take another 4 days or so to get them. the meds have not been working to ease up any of the symptoms so far. me nor my spouse have been with anyone else for over a year and neither one of us have ever had any type of symptoms. his area was gone by that morning. i heard of another auto immune disorder called lichen sclerosus tha im wondering if it mite be. the symptoms and the white discharge came on so quickly that im wondering what it is. ive never know for an std or even a yeast infecction to appear that quickly especially the possable herpes. just need ing some answers or input really confusied and scared. i had a partial historectomy 3 yrs ago due to endomitreosis.
Are you sure your husband gets *poison ivy* rashes? Why is he regularly exposed to poison ivy? Seems rather strange! Did they swab test you for herpes specifically?
Yes we own a tree service company. And no swab they did blood it's jst the waiting game. The medicine they have given me has not done nothing for my symptoms or pain. And the white spots appeared about 15 hrs after we had sex. I'm prone to uti's and yeast infections.

The doctor/nurse should have swabbed you if they suspected herpes, as that is better than the blood test (direct diagnosis versus indirect). The blood test for herpes is only good if it's for IgG antibodies (not IgM), and it won't detect new infections until after 3 months. The herpes meds are not always super effective, especially if taken too late.
It spots showe'd up sun moring I was on the meds by Tuesday but like I said its gotten worse since then so I don't know what to do to at least ease the pain.
If you still have spots, go back and get them swabbed for herpes asap to at least confirm whether it is or not. For pain, you can try topical lidocaine and/or oral paracetamol/ibuprofen. That's what you can use for herpes, at least. Soaking in a sitz bath of Epsom salts is also helpful. If the pain is while urinating, drink lots of water (with a bit of optional baking soda) and pour plain water down there while you're peeing.

I had the same issues white patches with lesions on them .. Definitely sounds like herpes ...
Ok I'm pretty sure I have come to terms and acceptance that I do have herpes. Now I'm jst wondering how is my life going to change because of it. And there is no chance that my children can catch herpes isb there?
With this being my first outbreak will anymore outbreaks be this painful?
Most likely not. As a general rule, recurrences tend to be much milder and quicker to heal than the first outbreak.
you have it genitally wise so no there is no known way for your kids to catch herpes from you .
have you gotten the results back yet ? do you have any idea where it might have came from ?
Hopefully tomorrw I should know definatly. As I'm figuring since I have nevery had a cold sore or fever blister or any thing at all close to that in my mouth but my husband has had these 2 little lesions in the corner of his mouth a few time, that they cam from there. He has no sign or symptoms except I'm figu ring a uti which hes suppose to have it checked out today. I had them do a swab of the lesions Sunday at a prompt care since neither on of the 2 other drs. I seen this week had done that so still waiting for that and blood. I finally got them to give me some lidocaine for the pain and they dou bled up my acyclovir so now most of the white spots are gone they are jst now really red and my vag is still very sore and raw. I hope that let's up real soon.thank you for taking the time to respond. I'm glad I ford this forum group cause beside my immediate family being husband, daughter (not my son he's only 11) my mother and mother in law nobody else needs to know jst for them to gossip about it. I will let u know tomorrow if the test results come back.
I got one if the test results back from the swab and it tested positive for hsv1. So did I contract that from the mouth then? Jst wondering.

Two separate viruses, so no, as that's impossible.
Now can I pass the virus through sexual contact after I'm healed? I'm sry this jst got really confusing.
Type 1 rarely passes via intercourse, so it's not so likely. If be careful at first, regardless. First year is marked by increased shedding and you won't have enough protective antibodies until 4 months after infection. Your husband should be immune, so he shouldn't get it anywhere else, but still use common sense to err on the side of caution (e.g. no sex while having an outbreak).
