Does anyone know a gynocologist who is well acquainted with lichen sclerosis? My gyno doesn't seem to know anything about it and, from what I read on the forum, this is quite common. I have been seeing a dermatologist, who is a lovely person, but I would really like to see someone who knows more about it than I do!!
Where do you live mine is at SMH all she does is work with LS she has got mine well under control
Try to find a clinic dedicated to just this. I am lucky enough to have one in Melbourne in Australia.
Hi Wendy i was also referred to a dermatologist who obviously knew about the skin condition but did not inspire me with confidence. I was dubious when the gp referred me to a dermatologist but did not seem to think it was a gynae problem.
Which brings me back to the fact that no-one knows much about our condition. You feel a bit like you are passed around.
Hi Wendy....I may have missed this, if you wrote it somewhere else, but where are you? Are y ou in the US or UK? I found a specialist, but I am in US.....
Hi as I said before I am from bucks, and we gave a great consultant she only deals with people like us I was very nervous when I went to see her, she put me at ease ,as of this I gave been a lot better I would recommened her.
Hi val
i am in Herts so we are practically neighbours. Please let me know where she works - high Wycombe? Thank you. It's easier for me to go to Bucks - where my dermatologist works - than London and catching trains to get there, although I am prepared to go to Cornwall if it helps!!
Hi Wendy she works at Stoke Mandeville hospital her name is miss tanker I think that's write I have only seen a few times, as things seam to be under controll I hope this helps you.
Miss tasker
GI Patricia, i am in the US too... Where is this specialist located?
Hi...The one I decided to go to is in Greenville, South Carolina. I also found a Vulvar clinic in Asheville, North Carolina, but to get an appt. there I had to wait several months. I went in to my regular ob/gyn and signed a permission slip to have my records from her office faxed to both clinics...I told them to write "Urgent" across the faxes...which they did...and the first place to give me the earliest appt is the one I took. Both Vulvar clinics had a Dr. that was a specialist in LS.
Hi Val. Would you give me the name of your consultant, so that I can ask my gp for the necessary letter of introduction, please. Thank you so much. Are you a private patient?
thank you Val. Wish me luck!
