Thank you all for sharing you research and stories - My doctor is cautious - I assume there are malpractice lawsuits all the time for this surgery - I am looking for P2P connection with her past patients to help me make my decisions. - I need an IOL in the left eye - reason - pervious surgery to correct a retina detachment resulted in a slowly progressing cloudy lens - it needs replacement - I have normal presbyopia nearsightedness but was 20/30 for most of my life. I use glasses today for intermediate and distance/driving at night.
I would like to talk with someone that has an near-intermediate distance correction with an multi-focal IOL upgrade (quoted at $3,500/eye) - I have read several negative posts - yikes - are there any some positive outcomes for multi-focal IOL’s? - also - how does the brain adjust to the sudden change in vision? As I cannot see much out of the left eye - My assumption is “better is better” so any IOL will be better - but selecting the right one would be a game-changer. I need help selecting a IOL - “Fixed” vs. “Multi-focal” IOL. I also need to select the brand/manufacturer/model. Reviewed many posts and this is a extremely important decision and there is a great deal of not-so-helpful data and information, Eyes are measured - IOL selection is now up to me … appreciate your advice, review of your IOL, and what to look out for and or expect - to help me select the right IOL - the surgery is in November. - P
