Hi l had cataract surgery a few weeks ago in my left eye, l think l can sometimes notice a shadow way in the left corner of my eye , it doesnt annoy me very much because it seems to be way over in the peripheral vision , l think l read it usually goes away in a few months, did anyone else get this after their surgery
Yes, it is most likely negative dysphotopsia. It appears on the temple side of the eye, and may go away. I wouldn’t worry about it and just ask the surgeon about it the next time that you see them. The surgical options to deal with it are not all that good.
.
I did not have the negative version, but I have some positive dyphotopsia in my right eye. In dark places where there is a point source of light most often off to my left I see a shooting star flash in a crescent shape on the far right of my right eye. It is not really and issue in seeing but does surprise me occasionally. On my second eye I have not had it so far.
Yes, I had it for a few months in my right eye. I only noticed it under certain lighting conditions, and eventually it went away. I think this is quite common, but you can certainly discuss it with your doctor.
