I had some deep abrasions in my vaginal area, the doctor saw them took at a test and pretty much told me herpes. Prescribed large valtrex tablets. I took them for 6 days until she informed me it came back negative. The symptoms also disappeared.
However, recently I was sick with a high fever and achy body like before and bam sores. I got it looked at early again this time so hopefully won't get to painful. Once again tested and waiting on results.
Anyone else had negatives before? She swabbed me pretty good the first time.
Swabs can come back w false negatives if not enough virus was present and it passed the 48hr window. It usually needs to be a sore to swab.
How many months has it been since you believe you were exposed? You need to take a blood test four months from that date, as it takes time to build antibodies . if you're having recurrents, it's likely herpes. Hang in there and let me know what the results were.
I have had one partner in my lifetime. We have been together for over a year. He unfortunately has had 2 other partners and has no idea which one could have given it to him. He has no symptoms like mine, never had a cold sore, nothing. So, I have no idea how long I have been exposed, and at which time I could have contracted it from him.
No results yet, but the sores seem to be getting more painful.
Okay, when was your first symptoms present? Are you in the US or the UK? soak in Epsom salt baths as long as possible when symptoms are present. If you're in the US, buy bactine, it will numb it for you. If in the UK, ask the chemist for something that has numbing spray in it.
I'm on the three doses a day valtrex. Swab came back negative again today. Doctor baffled. Did blood test after negative results today, will know in a few days. Took an Epsom bath last night, helped a bit. Not much, still in a lot of pain. Hopefully medicine helps soon.
The doctor swabbed them quite early this time I believe, they were just showing up as sores. I have been sexually active with my partner for almost a year now so could have been exposed at any time. I am in the US.
