Neurologist

well i saw the neurologist last weekend. He asked all about my symptoms etc. When i told him i am 49 he said 'you are too old to have multiple sclerosis' he really annoyed me and as a result i didn't tell him everything  that is going on with me. He did say he would do an mri scan in about 4 weeks time so i guess i just need to wait and see what happens next.

I was 34 at diagnosis and my sister was 52. Wait for your MRI but I will say the older you are at diagnosis, the better your outcome - you likely had it a long time but it didn't cause you any trouble.

You will only know if you have a problem once you know the results of your MRI.  Be polite, but firm with your doctor.

Age has nothing to do with it. Children as young as 3 are being diagnosed, along with my friend's aunt who was recently diagnosed at 63! Might be time to consider a new Neuro...

I was diagnosed at 40 and realised afterwards that I had had symptoms long before that but put them down to other problems. You must make a list of everything that you feel is relevant and take it for the neuro to read when you next see him.

well i went along for my mri scan but ended up not going through with it because i was so claustrophobic and just panicked. we tried several times but i just couldn't do it. i'm told that a letter will be sent to my gp and we will take it from there. my gp says he will try to get me in the hospital where they can give me an anesthetic so i don't know anything about it. i think that would be best for me. i hope everyone is okay x
