New hip revision! 😞

Good morning hippies. Well as some of you all know I was coming back to the hospital for a closed reduction to get my dislocated hip back in place. Well, turns out the socket was caught onto the cup and he did not want to force it so he had to cut me again only to find out the cup had loosened so he had to re do the whole thing again using different hip. New socket, cup & stem!! 😩So I'm starting all over again!! But I can't put any weight on this leg for 6 weeks dr orders. He wants time for tissues to heal and bone graft to take

Good luck with your revision.

Poor you do hope you go okay what a bummer. So hope you continue to recover okay keep smiling.  Regards Lorna

Poor you linda xx

Thank you, appreciate it.

I'm trying Lorna! Thank you.

I am sorry to hear that you had to go through this ... but at least your surgeon was thorough and hopefully your new recovery will be smoother.

I must say that your experience has made me even more cautious as I approach hip #2 thr. Most people on the forum suggested that a dislocation would end up with us writhing on the floor ... your experience demonstrates that it isn't as dramatic as this and we should err on the side of caution when something a-typical arises. Thank you for sharing your experiences and broadening our understanding of this thr journey.

I really hope this recovery is much smoother for you. Best wishes and hugs,

L

Thanks Linda. Yes it seems that even the slightest of things might dislocate a hip, I'm still trying to figure out how this happened. I'm leaning towards the drawer I was opening up. Oh also I don't know if I mentioned NO THERAPY for 6 weeks!! A very long road but dr said give him 6 weeks. I hope this works and I'm back to walking again!

Best of luck to you

Than you Steve!

2 steps forward 3 steps back ..At least it's over and now onward and upward. Hope all goes well from this day forward. Take care, Loral

Good luck Linda!!

πŸ€“πŸ€“πŸ€“. I hope so!

Thanks Megan!! I need it! πŸ€β˜˜πŸ€

Good luck Linda!  What an ordeal.  Your surgeon is being very cautious this time which is probably a good thing.  Take care and be patient.

So sorry Linda only bonus is its done now x take it steady us hippies are with you x

Holy cow. I'm so sorry. I'm so glad that you caught it early and had no other damage occur

I am so sorry to read this Linda.  Thank you for sharing.  I am 9 weeks post op tomorrow and feel great and it's so easy to forget you still have to be very careful .   I had little blip last weekend , I turned awkwardly and felt some pain in my hip and for a couple of days had to use one crutch as I was having pain in my operated leg. After reading your post I was really worried but It has come back right now and I am almost back to where I was.  I feel I've gone back a week in my recovery.  The thought of having to go right back to day one saddens me.   Take care and get well very soon.  Big hug.  Xx
