ive been dating a new guy for a couple months and about 3 or 4 weeks of being intimate i noticed a bump…thought nothing of it because i get ingrown hairs when i shave. I already had a obgyn appt scheduled for a follow up because I had GBS (nonpregnacy) previously and i was havinga lot of dischargethat was causing irritation So when i went i still had the bump but now there was a couple more. they weren’t together or in cluster…except on my butt when the dr looked. said it looked like hpv…got tested it was negative for all the high risk ones but she said ok maybe its herps…tested…came back positive 1.14…he got tested 2 months before and it was negative and i hadn’t been with any one for 3 months before him. Dr said its a new exposure so how is this possible.

herpes and hiv can take up to 3 to 6 months to show up in a blood test, so unless you have a herpes out break you won’t know for sure in the early stages.
It’s also very hard to know when you were infected by HSV, or who gave it to who.
With that being said if I understood right you said he got tested priority to y’all having sex, and both your test and his test came back negative; and you have not been having sex.
. It all depends on whens the last time he had sex, because it’s very much possible that if he had sex a month before getting tested that it wouldn’t have shown up on the blood test.
