cheers for that stuart,i must admit this af as some very big words init

It would be initially be massively expensive for the NHS to supply patients with monitors at around £200+. Would GPs want to lose the income the clinics generate. The surgery I go to checks over 100 patients a week at about £10 a time.

nice money spinner for them

Still cheaper for the NHS than prescribing the new expensive anticoagulants:-)

Hi Derek still trying to take all this af thing in so looking at aspects of a cure or hope for dealing with af

Hopefully your cardioversion will be a sucess.

I don't think that NICE is proposing the free issue of INR monitors on the NHS but is flying a kite for self-monitoring. It seems CoaguCheck and maybe others have lobbied NICE to generate more sales of their monitors at £350 each.Ouch!
