New poster, I have some questions. Please help! :(

In July I went to A&E with intense right side pain. Like other ladies on here from posts I've read, they suspected kidney stones, did a CT scan, found a 5cm ovarian cyst and sent me on my way to wait for a gyn referral. That took 10 weeks and I saw the doctor on Sep 16. I will be getting an ultrasound at some point in the next 6 weeks and they are re testing my CA125 - I had it tested in June because I'd been suffering from lower back pain (which is less intense now) and stomach pain and bloat (my stomach issues started in July 2013 but they dismissed it as IBS after they ruled out ulcers).

The pain is ridiculous. BUT it is always, always worse in the evenings. Early evening the pain increases, without fail,  no matter what I've been doing (though sometimes it is less intense if I've had a rest day but not always). It is often so severe that I don't want to or can't eat dinner. It is so bad that I can't lie on my right side at night. Is this normal?

Does this sound like cyst pain?

Could it be endometriosis?

Is it more likely my bowels if it's every evening, maybe a digestion time?

The pain is lower right abdo and often centre. I am tender to touch. Sex doesn't always hurt but afterwards it is often painful for hours.

The doctor didn't really say anything, he is working on the assumption that it's a cyst, I don't know what an ultrasound will show or what is going to happen.

If it matters, I have the implant - this is my second, have had it 4 years. I have irregular bleeding sometimes heavy. I can't remember  when my abdomen didn't hurt.  sad

Please help.

i had similar problems with stomach issues which i had self diagnosed as a stomach ulcer as it is in the family, also tiredness which i was having a nap each evening before i went out to a meeting, but pain was really severe for 10 days at end of August, since then comes and goes and is much milder.  initially i had both an ultrasound and an internal ultrasound when i was admitted to hospital with severe pain as they thought it was appendix.  ultrasound will show cysts on pictures and measure size. i am having a repeat in mid october to see if any changes, however consultant has already decided to remove them.

my pain was worst when i was standing up, going to bathroom and best when lying flat on my back!  i found co-codamol helped with pain as paracetamol/ibuprofen didnt touch it!

go and seek another GP at your practice they might have more time / inclination to discuss with you, write it all out / print out what you wrote above to show dr.  Also you can google ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound for cysts and you can find more info about the procedure if you want info.

I also phoned the hospital direct to find out date of my appointment with consultant, had a reassuring chat with his secretary, and think I got an earlier one due to this.

Also remember that you get a lot of support and info from these forums but everyones pain/symptoms are personal to them and you may have some in common but it can't answer all the questions about your body.  Good luck, let us know how you get on.
