I seemed to be having a reaction to clob and so my dermy has prescribed Synalar (Fluocinolone Acetonide) - does anyone use this?
Haven't heard of that name at all. It's an alternative to Clob?
I just looked it up. The big difference is it's much weaker than clobetasol. There's a chart online if you look up topical corticosteroid potency.
Have you tried tacrolimus?
Thanks for that Morrell - I did wonder as my dermy is exploring all avenues at the moment to get the inflammation down before my gyny referral comes through. It comes in a tube with a nozzle and I don't know whether to use externally or insert.
No, not tried tacrolimus yet - I will jot the name down and ask at my next apptment.
Hi , I have used this in ointment form ,once a week for the past
3 weeks, it seams to cause me irritation which lasts for about 4 days.
I'm up the hospital tomorrow so shall ask about this. You maybe
OK using it we are all different. Use it the same as clob .
Apparently! It is in gel form and I will report back on progress. Hopefully it will all settle down soon as I am off to Namibia for 4 weeks soon and as they don't recommend brushing teeth even in tap water, I just hope I can keep myself clean and sane!
It's worth mentioning it. I was disturbed to realize that my gynae hesitated to prescrice tacrolimus because she assumed I'd balk at the extra cost (It costs $80 in Canada for a tube that has lasted me over a year!)
Has it started to help?
Too soon to say really - I haven't noticed any difference but it is only after 1 day.
